The Kinetic Road Machine

It’s the Kinetic Road Machine and the critics adore it. The riders love it. Join the pack on the world’s best fluid trainer.

Quiet. Smooth. And completely leakproof. It is the most realistic ride out there. Tested and rated the very best by the Cycling press and loved by riders, no wonder it’s the official bicycle trainer for the USA Cycling Team.

It’s quiet, smooth, leak-proof, and offers probably the most accurate simulation of outdoor riding.

Powertap calibrated, the fluid trainer automatically adjusts resistance as the rider changes speed. Regardless if you are sprinting on an interval or out for a Sunday cruise, the resistance is true to the road.

The One and Only - Bike Trainer

The Kinetic Bike Trainer was designed not to leak. Unlike other fluid trainers, the Kinetic has eliminated the drive shaft and all the seals that could fail with extended use.

This bike trainer has a completely sealed fluid chamber which utilizes a patented magnetic coupler to spin the impeller inside the fluid chamber. Utilizing thermodynamic liquid silicon provides consistent resistance at all temperatures.

Unlike other fluid bike trainers, the fluid will not lose viscosity and the resistance will not get easier once the fluid gets hot. With 80 external cooling fins with intercooler, the Road Machine operating temperature is the lowest known in the industry.

To top it off, this bike trainer is mounted on the very best frame money can buy. The robotically welded trapezoidal base covers more area than every other trainer in the industry, giving the rider unmatched stability and strength.

Its patented quick release attachment accommodates 99% of OEM skewers and there are parts available to make it compatible with all track, BMX, and even SRAM hubs.

The legs are adjustable to three positions so the user can lower or raise the rear tire to allow for tires and bikes of all sizes. The resistance unit and the legs fold close to the frame for easy storage.

Non-marring PVC feet absorb irregularities in the floor and a softer plastic is used on the adjustment knobs so they will not break if dropped.

You’ll wonder how you ever did without it. From sprints to intervals to an all-day cruise, the powertap calibration gives you the truest simulation of an outdoor ride. Automatic resistance adjustments as you change speeds. It’s the trainer you have been waiting for.

It’s the perfect workout partner for sprints to intervals to all-day cruising. Quiet.Smooth. And like every Kinetic Trainer, this bike trainer is 100% leak-proof.

The power calibration gives you true outdoor simulation. The automatic resistance adjusts as you change speeds. Realism as only Kinetic can deliver it.

The best Bike Trainer

Sep 05, 2011 by shmoe

This trainer is great! I have put 500 miles on it so far. I do alot of road riding and trainer riding while training for triathlons, and the resistance on this is EXTREMELY close to the road.

With my heart rate at 70% my average road speed on a flat road and my average speed on the trainer are with 1/2mph of each other.

The thing is extremely beefy and extremely stable. I\'ve tried friends trainers from cyclops and bell and they just aren\'t as good. Cyclops doesn\'t have the same road feel and the el-cheapo bell feels flimsy and is pretty unstable by comparison.

Watch the fins on this as they do get pretty hot and will burn you if you have been riding hard for an hour and brush a bare ankle against it. The trainer isn\'t as quiet as other reviews had made me believe, but its bearable. I do have to turn my tv up about 20 decibles more than I noramlly do when I\'m on the trainer and want to hear the TV.

All and all after trying this trainer and many others from friends and bike shops, I wouldn\'t hesitate to drop the money on this one again.

Great bike trainer

Jun 02, 2011 by TTcyclist

I\'ve put a lot of miles on this trainer now and have never had a problem.

The resistance is as close to real riding I have found while being stuck inside. It is easy to set up, quieter than most (though not silent either), smooth, it doesn\'t \"walk\" and is well built. I am confident that this trainer will last as long as I do (and the lifetime warranty helps with that).

It\'s expensive, but also much better than the cheap alternative. I would recommend and climbing block, a fan and a mat with this.

This is the perfect one!

Jan 19, 2011 by R. Pichardo

I\'m a road and mountain biker and when I knew I was pregnant I decided to continue with my bike but stationary for safety.

I have balance problems so I used to be on the ground very often :-). So I started searching information about all type of bike trainers and after two weeks I decided to buy this one.

I can say that it\'s excellent!, smooth and you really feel you are working out. I took the best decision. Worth extra money paid, if you compare with others brands.

It\'s easy to install and very steady and tough, you really feel you are on ground moving. I found no necessary to buy the front wheel support; it works with any no slippery object. I expected to be more quite but nothing that music couldn\'t help.

The Rolls Royce of bike trainers

Jul 25, 2010 by Claud Duffield "pappa"

I have loved, rode and built bicycles all my life. Now, being 73 years old with a very bad back, I need to keep in shape but can\'t ride in the open anymore. Can\'t stand exercise bikes, so have been using trainers with my Cannondale for the last 4 years.

The disappointments I have had is that I couldn\'t find a trainer that lasted. Magnetics never give acceptable resistance and I have gone through 3 \'name brand\' fluid units; 1 wore out the bearings, 2 started leaking oil; all just after the warranty period expired. In desperation, because I absolutely needed the exercise, I decided to go for broke and get the best rated trainer I could find.

The Kurt Kinetic won out. Bought one and set it up and had a problem with an out of balance flywheel. Expecting, as usual, a lot of static from the manufacturer, I called Kinetic about it. Had the most courteous and helpful assistance I have ever had for this kind of service. The people I spoke to were horrified about the problem. They immediately offered to send a NEW and TESTED resistance unit and a return box and label for the old one at THEIR expense so they could discover why the unit was not right. The new one arrived within 3 days and has been a dream to use. Kicking myself now for not finding out about Kinetic sooner.

This unit is absolutely wonderful; Really good resistance, really stable and tough. With the lifetime warranty and the kind of service Kinetic offers, will use this thing \'till I die.

LOVE IT! BUY ONE, you won\'t be sorry!

High quality product

Mar 03, 2010 by Danarone

After years riding MTB, I am new to road biking and indoor training.

Did my research and ended up purchasing this trainer because it uses fluid, but has a unique magnetic coupling to prevent future problems with leakage. So far, I am extremely pleased. The unit was easy to set-up, it is very smooth and quiet, and the resistance is very realistic.

I highly recommend this product.

Outstanding Product - Don't settle for less!

Nov 03, 2009 by Stan "Moonlight Groove"

The Kurt Kinetic is my first trainer. I did a lot of research on trainers before purchasing, and finally settled on this one.

It has a very fast setup/assembly time(less than 30 minutes). After assembly, I disassembled and broke it down to a storage state and then tried a reassembly. Although the initial setup took longer, I was able to set-up and reassemble in less than 5 minutes. It breaks down to be easily stored in a compact space.

Operates relatively quiet (don\'t expect a whisper - it\'s more like a fan. You can expect some initial tire squeaking after first set-up, but that goes away after a few hours of riding. It is built solid and is very stable.

Provides a great workout, and I\'m very happy that I spent the extra money on a quality piece of equipment.

Excellent Bike Trainer

Mar 05, 2008 by Raj

I debated for quite a while which trainer to purchase for the snowy winter, and to get more seat time during the week to increase my cycling fitness, speed and power.

The Kinetic Road Machine was my final choice and I have not regrets. The set up is quick and easy. It is also easy to fold and store away when not in use. The unit is quiet, but not whisper quite, but that is okay.

The quality is amazing, it\'s a solid unit. You definitely fell the resistance from the motor. As long as you have a heart rate monitor and a cadance monitor for you bike, you can get some great work outs on this unit. It is worth every penny.

The best trainer you can buy

Jan 09, 2007 by James P. Hendrick "J Hendrick"

I have had several other trainers of this type that were used by my son and myself for training on Road, Mountain, and Recumbent.

This one is the best. From the moment you heft it out of the shipping carton until you set it up you know this is quality and not like all the others. It is BUILT strong.

I am 6\'3\" and 215 lbs. This trainer acts like I\'m not there. The greatest feature is the quietness with which it operates. You can watch the Spinerval DVD or TV and not have to be blasted off the seat. Bike mounting on the trainer is straight and very simple while being very secure.

I love it and use it regularly with great results.

spinnie

Sep 15, 2006 by love my sore muscles

I got this trainer thinking that it would be a good workout for days when I was too lazy to carry my bike downstairs or go to the gym. I\'ve taken spinning classes for a few years, and never thought that using a trainer would produce a workout as intense as my classes. This trainer definitely does.

I\'ve never used another one, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I LOVE this trainer. Keeping the resistance up will give you a great workout and you can use your gears modify the resistance while riding. It remains stable even when I stand up on it.

Overall, I just love it. It\'s quiet, easy to use, and takes up minimal space.
